Next GTG- suggestion

Can it not be so far east? Thats the main reason I'm not going.

Bethsir- You are right Deer Park is not that far. I take the train from Ronkokoma everyday. People are always like oh my god you live all the way out east. Out east is the Hamptons, Montauk. Ronkokoma is in the middle of LI. It is ext 59 and then the LIE goes to ext 70 and then LI goes on for miles. It is kind of funny!!! It makes me feel like I live in the middle of nowhere.

If i have to drive more than 20-30 minutes... its far!! I hate to drive, and I'm not taking the train.

LOL! This post is funny b.c I fight about this with the people at work everyday! I can imagine the stuff you must get in Ronkonkoma but I only live 2 exits from Nassau and everyone thinks I live with cows!
I agree with Tracy though it is kinda far for some and there are a lot of nice places in Nassau, but at the same time for once its not me who has to travel! Give the girls out here a break

Ok girls, lets not fight. The point is the last two were further out on the island so us (western nassau, Queens, Brooklyn etc.) would like the third one to be a little closer. Thats all

LOL I know, I never heard of this all the way out east thing until I started to work in the city.

Hey, it is what's convinent for people. I went to the GTG in the city and I am going tonight. I can have the best of both worlds. However, the New Hyde Park GTG was so out of the way for me.

I think the main reason for this GTG being in Deer Park is that Papa Joe's so wonderfully offered to host us girls and gave us a terrific dinner package. IMO whether the GTG was in the Hamptons or in NYC one night of travel isn't alot to ask in order to visit and meet people that helped you so much in your planning!!! See you all tonight : ).

Hey - what about us who are really out east - Southold. Even Deer Park is over an hour.

My parents live in Southold! Where are you getting married?
I feel for the girls who live out east... We might move further b.c the apartments are cheaper and nicer.

I am coming from Westchester and tomorrow morning I have to go right back out to long island to meet with Wild Rose Video at 9 am! I really do not mind the drive though. I just hope there is not too much traffic tonight!

i think papa joes is the best/most central location---long island is huge and i feel that it is right in the middle for everyone---45 minutes from the bronx/staten island.(without traffic!) and 45 minutes from the hamptons (of course doing 65-70mph!HA) i think it's a perfect location!JMO----

PLEASE dont move it further west... Im in Riverhead and I was hoping to get to the next one. If its over 1 hour away I wouldnt want to go. KEEP IT IN THE MIDDLE. PWEASE!!!!!

well due to the fact I can't drive (sometimes just sit) for extended periods of time (more than 30 minutes) due to medical reasons, i won't be able to make one until its closer. Thats why I suggested it.
