Has anyone been to or going to Niagara Falls? We are taking a short Honeymoon there after the wedding and I am looking for a good place to stay. Thanks!

Re: Niagara Falls

My husband and I went to Niagra Falls a few summers ago. We stayed on the Canadian side because with the currency exchange rate it was less expensive. However, we did find the prices in restaurants on the Canadian side to be absolutely ridiculous. We went to a TGIFridays for dinner one night and it cost us more than $50.00 (American)for just 2 of us. It probably would have been around $30.00 in the US. There is a beautiful hotel on the Canadian side that even has a casino in it. I have forgotten the name but I am sure if you do a search on the web you can find it. Both sides of the Falls have lots of things to do and see.

Re: Niagara Falls

I live in Buffalo, and I would also suggest staying on the Canadian side. There is much more to do within walking distance of most of the hotels in Canada compare with the US.

I would not recommend staying in Buffalo. The Buffalo hotels will be at least 20 minutes from the falls.

Sorry I can't suggest where specifically to stay. The casino is Casino Niagara if that helps at all.

Jen

Re: Niagara Falls

I JUST got back from Niagara Falls this weekend, and had an absolutely WONDERFUL time. We stayed at the Renaissance Fallsview Hotel, on the Canadian side. (You have to stay on the Canadian side - it's the elegant, classy side of the Falls, and it's where most of the 'attractions' take place, except for the staircase along the Falls, which you HAVE to do, and that's on the American side.) The Renaissance Hotel was beautiful, but the pool was a tad disappointing. I would highly recommend the Hilton hotel, which is right next to the Renaissance. It was just a bit more upscale, and the pool looked gorgeous! Both hotels are walking distance from the Falls, but you must make sure to ask for a room with the 'falls view' (rather than the 'city view'), and make sure to ask for a room on an upper floor so that you can actually see the Falls. If you have specific questions about anything there, please e-mail me directly at '[email protected]'. You will love it there!
