has anyone been here? i went years ago but i want to take FH there he has never been there and it was gorgeous when i was there....does anyone recommend places to stay or things to do? can you let me know how much things were thanx!

my FH and I lived in Buffalo for four years. we went to the falls often. Although they are starting to clean up the american side, we prefer the canadian side. NF (U.S.) has one casino, and goat island (a 1 1/2 mile island you walk around the falls ). Other than that there's little to do. No offense to anyone.
On the other hand, the canadian falls has a much nicer view of the falls, has two great casinos, and lots of tourist attractions. and more hotels than the american side. as 19 year olds, my friends and used to go up there every weekend as the drinking age is younger. there are a bunch of nice hotels right on clifton hill (the main drag area).

FH and I live in Buffalo. We have stayed at the Sheraton, the one near the older casino. I think the new casino has a hotel. The new casino is really nice. You don't need to plan anything in advance except the hotel, although when we went we didn't have a reservation. There are tons of restaurants and tourist attractions. Just wait until the snow season has passed!

DH and I went for a mini honeymoon. I agree the Canadian side was MUCH more exciting. It was also MUCH more expensive though. We had a great time!! FM for more info.
