Nice to Meet You All

Hi everyone,
My name is Josh and my bride to be, Carrie and I are very excited about our upcoming wedding.
We got engaged in October and have the majority of venders picked out. I'm so upset that I didn't find these message boards earlier because the feedback is amazing. I'll let you know what we've done and then ask a couple of opinion questions that I'd love some help with. So far we've booked

Ceremony site and reception site: Temple Israel of Lawrence
Band: Daybreaks Night
Photographer and videographer: B rett M atthews
Flowers: Dalsimer
Honeymoon: Secrets Excellence, Mexico
Carrie picked out the bridesmaids dresses (David's) and her dress (Adrienne's), I picked out tuxes (Zeller's) and we ordered invitations, yamulkas, and I'm working on the programs, which are going to be out of this world.
So far, we're extremely happy with all our vendors, particularly our photographer and florist, who blew us away
Seeing that our wedding is about 10 months away, are we going to have nothing left to do for the next 8 months?
Does anyone have any suggestions of reheasal dinner locations in the Westbury area that would be about $30 a head?
Anyone have a good suggestion of ceremony music that is not wagner or mendellson?

Hi Josh, welcome. I am in the Maryland area so I am not sure about a rehearsal site or musician. I am still looking for a place just like you. Happy planning and I think you and your fiancee are doing well.

i see you're getting married at a temple. can i see what the program looks like. i know its not really done at jewish weddings but i would like to do one.

I just started the program, but I'm planning it as several pages long, probably 10 pages front and back, detailing the jewish customs, breaking down our bridal party and spending a paragraph or so on each explaining why they are in the bridal party, remembering some loved ones who are no longer with us and sending out a special note to our guests.
I'm an amateur desktop publisher with a Macintosh (it does make a difference IMO) and I bought a great new program called iWork that is only available on the Mac. I think the key to the whole thing is the layout, making it really nice (we're doing it in full color) and very tasteful.

you're program sounds great - i went to a jewish wedding this past summer and they did something simialar - it was nice to know what the different traditions signified
