FH said that we can have an engagement party but it has to be low cost...he suggested trying to find a 'nice' vfw or Knights of Columbus.
I really want to have a party- dj & dancing
we will cater the food and FH is in the DJ business so we don't have to worry about that cost...
so do u ladies have any suggestions?? of a nice place we can rent out?
also do u know how much these places cost about?

Re: nice VFW?!
how many people? There is one in Massapequa that is 3 pp for soda, or I think 9 for beer wine and soda. It is under 500 to rent the room, but I dont remember exactly how much. It holds about 90 I think.

we had my parents 50th bday party at the K of C in Oceanside. It was super nice. They have catering packages as well for really reasonable prices! HTH!

Re: nice VFW?!
another question.....
do you invite more or less people to the engagement party?
FH said we need to have the same list... I thought the engagement party should just be some immediate family and friends?

You should try the American Legion in Lindenhurst. They have a small and large hall (which they just renovated). It's used a lot for sweet 16's. They also have a kitchen that you can use.

Re: nice VFW?!
Ive had and been to a few parties at the American legion in smithtown. its off brooksite. It very pretty. Big kitchen and has a nice size bar. and theres a big room in the back of it with a fridge to put the drinks in. You dont want it as big as your wedding and I know that place holds about 100 comfortably. Close friends and immediate family would be just fine HTH

Re: nice VFW?!
absolutely check out The Amity Harbor Beach & Civic Association. It's like a VFW/KoC. It's right on the water with a beautiful deck and outdoor area.
