i am allergic to nickel so i cant wear white gold and always break out in a rash after wearing sterling silver for a few hours.
my e-ring and wedding band are platinum.
any ideas on what i can wear for DOJ. I'd like antique-looking earrings and a bracelet. no necklace.
anyone know
(a) what i can wear (i was thinking stainless steel since that's what my watch is and i always were it w/o issues.)
(b) where i can buy them! lol

Re: nickel allergies - DOJ question
would you break out immediately? I'm allergic to some metals, but only have a reaction if I wear it a few days in a row... if just for one day, I don't get a reaction

Re: nickel allergies - DOJ question
Ricky has a serious nickel allergy - anything I've ever purchased for him in terms of jewelry causes him to break out - especially when it's in watches, his wrist blows up.
Yellow Gold works for him - White Gold (pure works) but not if it's mixed...you have to trust the jeweler.
What about getting it Rhodium dipped - that's what I did for a white gold bracelet I bought him...works like a charm and it's relatively inexpensive!

My sister has the same problem. It's actually weird because some white gold works for her and some doesn't so she really doesn;t take a chance anymore. She just found this new jeweler who makes jewelry she can wear. She is at work now so I will ask her and get back to you/

Yes.. after about 20-30 mins, my skin starts to itch and by the time an hour passed i have hives in that area.

most (99%) of my jewelry is yellow gold. But I have a pet-peeve about mixing jewelry. lol. white gold doesn't work for me either =( Pure or mixed. It's so sad! lol
I have never heard of Rhodium. I have to ask about it.

you could always dip your jewelery in platinum to make it safe for you to wear !!
