nickname question

We are considering Amelia Jane for the baby's name. With Amelia, what nicknames do you think we might run into?

Of course, I would hope everybody would call her Amelia..but we all know how THAT goes!

Re: nickname question

probably amy or lala.

I named my daughter Emma and I call her Em and Emmy. It just happens... but I am the only one that calls her something other than her name (her dad calls her Punk, Punkin but thats a completly different nickname)

My friends daughter is Emelia & some people call her Emme.

I prefer the full name myself!

My niece's name is Amelia and they call her Mia. Another nickname I've seen is Lia.

Re: nickname question

My great-aunt, a most wonderful and strong women is named Amelia. I truly love that name
Her nickname was Mimmie, but she is over 75 years old and that was a common nickname back then. I honestly think the name Amelia is so beautiful that I probably wouldn't shorten it at all.

Is Jane after anyone?

I would think that Amy would be a nickname... but I could be wrong...

Re: nickname question

My friend's niece is Amelia, and she's called Meels (I don't care for or suggest that nickname!).

My great aunt was named Amelia, and she was called Hattie (can't for the life of me figure THAT one out! ).
