nightmare

nightmare

Okay girls... so i'm starting to get nightmares and i don't like it! This was my second one and i still have 10 months to go. I'm getting nervous because i don't like being the center of attention at all... (in college, i was known for skipping class the day of oral presentations) and i tend to break out in hives so if i wasn't skipping class, i was wearing turtlenecks in 70 degree weather.

I would really like to write my own vows for the wedding, but what if i freak out? Of course i'll have to write them on paper because i freak out so much that my mind would go blank. Do you think i'll be able to do it? Does anyone have any suggestions to what can possibly calm me down?

Try Xanax. I know three people who take it and they say it makes them very calm and really calms their nerves.

Seriously? So i'm guessing they didn't drink at their wedding then huh?

(in case your wondering... my FH wants the big wedding. I just wanted to go to the carribean and do it on the beach with a few people).

I'm just like you - I'm nervous about walking down the aisle, standing in front of everyone, 1st dance, dance with father, bo-k toss & garter throw (might just have to veto that one!), entrance - UGH. I hate being the center of attention, but we kind of got pressured into having the big NY wedding

Anyway I don't want to take any drugs - I just plan to focus my attention on FH and concentrate on him (and try to ignore everyone else). Also I keep telling myself that the people who are going to be at our wedding are people who we love and who love us - and won't be judging (or so I say!)

Good luck!

Re: nightmare

I was very serious actually!
My sister and two friends of mine took it for a while due to anxiety..none of them are married so they didn't actually take it on their wedding day but they took it for other stresses and now they don't get anxiety really anymore. I think the pills help it stop altogether.
Just a suggestion!
Maybe you should talk to your doctor and see what they suggest?
If you really have that bad anxiety, you should talk to your doctor! You don't want to feel sick/anxious on your wedding day!

Oh thats too funny! No when i'm nervous i'll just sweat to death and have to pee through the whole ceremony. My poor bm's are going to have to fan me the whole time prior to the ceremony!

The funny thing is... i'm not nervous at all about marrying my FH or anything like that. Its just the spotlight and the people starring that kills me. And we're having my reception immediately following the ceremony on the beach... so that means most likely all 160 people will be at the ceremony starring!!!

If you want to recite your own vows, maybe you could give them to the officiant to recite, for you to repeat.

I am nervous about this too... funny for work I can do anything... but when it's all about me, I have a problem... I was thinking about it the other day and thought that I will probably be so focused on my FI that nothing else will matter... and he has a way of calming my nerves....
I am sure that will help you as well.... I was going to write my own vows too but there was a problem with the priest.. and also, I would probably mess them up..... I was thinking of writing something at the rehearsal dinner and reading it aloud to him..
Drugs arent' always the answer.... try to focus on your FI

Re: nightmare

Our pastor said that if we write our own vows we give him a copy and repeat after him just as trad. vows.

You may want to consider that.
