Nina - finally met with Rev. April!

I knew you were using her, so I just wanted to share! She was such a pleasure! I didn't think these kinds of things really left any type of impression on my FH, but even he left her house saying 'I really like her - she's so talented!' I was so happy...I can't wait to get the first draft! How is your ceremony write-up coming along?

Yay! She is great! Very sweet, and easy to work with. The first draft came withing a week, but we took a few weeks to actually look it over. I feel guilty that I put the other 'less important' things first, and didn't get to the ceremony for a while. Honestly, the ceremony seems to be the most difficults, every word counts.
Anyway, I spoke to her, changed some things and she sent a 2nd draft within a few days, and again we are taking a while to look at it. Is yours non- or inter-denominational? Are you using a spiritual ceremony (GOD)?
Yes, she is very creative and talented, my fi said the same thing! And, after meeting w/ Rev. Joan Schauer, well......

Don't feel bad about taking your time with it - you're so right, every word counts. We are having a non-denominational ceremony, but spiritual. I am Jewish and my FH is Protestant. We opted to not go with an interfaith, except for a couple of traditions (unity candle, breaking of the glass)- but both have a strong belief in G-d. I was so impressed with her - the way the words just rolled off her tongue. I think our ceremony will be like no other, and that's what I love about the whole thing. My favorite part of the initial meeting was talking about how Chris and I met, and how she already came up with ways of saying it at the ceremony in a matter of minutes! Let me know when you've made a final decision on the ceremony - I can't wait to hear your excitement!! Are you an interfaith couple as well? Have you chosen inter or non?

We are having the ceremony non denom, but both have strong faith in God. I feel the same way, that our guests will walk out saying, 'wow, that was a great ceremony!'. And, I think many of the more traditional (older generation) guests will realize how nice a nondenom/interfait ceremony can be! Since many of us have lost someone recently, she wrote a meditation that we're using to remember them and feel that they are with us. That will be really nice for me since my mom passed away.

We are totally in the same situation! We too will be using the meditation...because I lost my father and wanted something to help us feel his presence (without making me bawl on such a happy occastion). I originally wanted to do a big candlelighting ceremony, but April thinks it may take at least 10 min. if not more to perform it if we did it that way. I take her advice to heart, because she has worked at the Historical Chapel for a while, and really knows the layout. I think this way is nicer, and probably less emotional...let me know when you read over your next draft...can't wait to hear about it!! :)
