Ninja Restaurant Review***THANK YOU KITTEN0819***
Some of you wanted a review on this restaurant so here it goes:
It's on hudson street and the city and believe it or not parking is easy around there, FH and i found parking RIGHT in front of the place and then his friends all parked across the street. So something to keep in mind.
When you walk in theres a hostess but then you get on an elevator to go down into the cave. You walk through their village and their bridge to get to your tables. Its individual rooms which is cool to have all to yourself. The way its decorated looks real cool. The stone walls, plus it has a modern japanese look to it, i liked it alot. There were of 8 of us and we had a nice sized room for us.
They have a sampler menu which is appetizer, sushi, entree and dessert, theres 4 of them to choose from. I didn't do any of them bc what i wanted wasnt a choice as an entree. THey also have a la carte menu. I had the crabcake for the appetizer which was real good and I had some of FH's creamy shrimp which was delicious. The presentation of their food is real nice. Then they all had sushi but i didn't want to get full so i didn't have any but everyone said it was very good, and they bring it out on these big wooden logs. For main entree I had Lobster with mushrooms and this cheese sauce. On the plate i see the lobster shell but then realized there was nothing in there it was just for presentation, they have these two pockets and its all in there, it was AMAZING. Smaller than i thought it would be but it was ok bc i figured ill actually get to eat dessert which i dont usually do. FH LOVED his meal and kept saying how good it is. They used pastry paper to make a volcano to put over the food and then you can lift it or mix it with the food. They even have a fondue meal which they bring out to you on a burner for you to do yourself, two of our friends did that. For dessert I had this chocolate, flan mixture with hot cocoa which was DELICIOUS!!!! and they bring it out on a long plate, they put a vase with dry ice on it and a rose so all this mist is coming out when they bring it to you. I was hoping one of us would order something that is flambe bc the waiter lights it with their hand its like some magic trick, from our room we kept seeing like these sparks go off everywhere and it looked cool.
It can be a bit pricey. Everyone at the table was drinking so thats what made it alot more. They got a bottle of sake, FH did a sake tasting which is 4 types of sake, then wine, beer that they used for sake bombs, i had mojito's and some girls had speciality drinks like that. It came out to close to $300 per couple just a little under about $270 a couple to be exact. We just split the bill though bc what I had the meal alone was about $80-90 and i had very few drinks. If it was just FH and I then it would definitely have been less than $270 for us. So if you go watch how much you drink lol.
I definitely recommend it though, the food was amazing, the atmosphere is so great and definitely a different type of dining experience
I forgot the MOST important thing to say: THANK YOU to kitten0819, you are the one who mentioned it and cause of you i looked at the site. Great recommendation. I think you're going tonight for your anniversary, have a great time and happy anniversary
***ETA*** theres other things that go with the experience of being there but don't want to give any of that away, i think its alot better if you go and don't know
