No aisle runner? (a little long)

No aisle runner? (a little long)

Has anyone else encountered this? We went to see the church at St. John's University that we want to get married at and they do not allow aisle runners?

i am concerned since its a white dress and we are looking at the fall- plus i had my heart set on a monogrammed aisle runner.

She said its an insurance thing?

but they also have a bzillion other rules-
-no pew markers or anything hanging from them
-they must approve all music for the ceremony and the musicians playing at it
- they don't provide a priest for the mass
-you have to do precana at another parish

am i being unreasonable or are they just taking my money and trying to run my wedding their way?

thanks for letting me vent!

many churches dont allow aisle runners or petals to be thrown - its not entirely uncommon

hey what priest did you meet with?

yea i totally understand about the insurance., its a obstruction., where if someone slips on it and falls..you or the church most importantly may be liable.

yea they also said no petals or rice- only bubbles- which is fine..

am just concerned about the runner and the fact that i dont know where to get a priest since they dont provide one.

Actually they said just find another church and I can do the precana there and get a priest from there. I just dont think it will be that easy- does anyone think a priest would agree to officiate at a church thats not part of their parish?

The church I am getting married in did not provide a priest either. We called the church were FH grew up and asked a deacon if we would come and do it. He said yes.

Call some churches or maybe ask on the vendor board.
