My MOH is giving me a hard time because i dont want a bridal shower. I gave birth to my son last year and i feel like everytime i turn around its been about me. Baby shower, christening, first birthday and then the wedding. Alot of my family has to travel to come to my parties. What do you think i can do as opposed to a bridal shower so my MOH wont be mad....lol

Re: No bridal shower
You should have a shower. You only get married once you deserve a shower.

Re: No bridal shower
Maybe you could have a shower in place of a rehearsal dinner. That way anyone who is traveling will only have to make one trip.

A breakfast/brunch is a nice idea. Something casual and not too formal

Re: No bridal shower
It would be the same thing if you had the bridal shower, wedding, then got pregnant and had a baby shower, christening, 1st birthday... etc
Don't worry about it if they are happy to plan it for you! Enjoy it

Re: No bridal shower
I didn't want a shower either because i already live with my FH. But he insisted that i have one, so i planned a very small one with my MOH at my house. There were about 15 people which included the groomsmans wives, close family members and friends. It was very nice and i wouldn't change it.
So you can do something like that or you can combine the rehersal dinner or bachlorette party with a shower. So you don't have to have two separate parties.

Re: No bridal shower
You deserve a shower, it is good that you are modest. Maybe make it a casual brunch or something low key and tell your MOH not to put pressure on family to travel (they can ship gifts it has been done!). My Mom threw me an afternoon tea which was so cute, you can make it casual but you deserve a shower!

Thanks for all the comments. The brunch idea sounds nice with a few family & friends. Not used to all this attention...lol

It is overwhelming but WORK IT you can never have this time back and people want to celebrate you - let them!

Re: No bridal shower
I do not think that just because you had your child before you got married means that you should not have a bridal shower.
If you think about it you are not asking any more than anyone else. Just maybe in a little different order.
And if someone thinks that you should not have a shower they can RSVP no.
Don't take it away from yourself just because you are afraid you are having to many affairs.
Look for me I am planning on trying to get pregnant right after the wedding. So it is not out of the rehlm of possibilities that I would be having a baby shower 6 or 7 months after my wedding.
See it is just in a different order
