No Children at the Wedding except

I'm having a small problem with this. We don't want kids at the reception, but he has one nephew he wants there so we were gonna let him go. I'm close with my little second cousins, but after all the running around, bumping in to people and the screaming I don't want them there, they acted as if they were at the playground and i will not have that behavior at my wedding, plus I know they won't eat. My FI's nephew on the other is his only nephew and doesn't run around and such. Is it terrible to only have him there and no other kids? I know he'll be the only kid there, but he's used to it since he is the only nephew/grandchild in the family.

any advice would be helpful.

TIA

I'm sure that would be fine since he's already used to it. It's not the other kids that's important, just as long as mommy and/or daddy are there!! Other people might be annoyed that their kids can't come but you'll just have to explain that this is his only nephew.

I have a similar thing...My FG is 3 & means the world to me...She will be at the wedding...FH has TONS of little ones in the family but we made it VERY clear that no one else would be invited...

Then we came across another problem, SIL is pregnant & due Oct 3rd..They live out of state, so I told my SIL & brother that they could bring the baby...FH's brother is also having a baby in July...They have the same option...

So worse case for us, it will be our brother's kids & my FG

We are having a cut off age of 13, I have ALOT of little cousins and would love to have them there, but in all they're not going to realize there missing out. Besides I know my aunts and uncles look forward to having a night out without the kids. If someone should have a problem with it, just tell them this is YOUR day and that's how it's going to be, end of discussion.

I was having the same problem becuz I have lots of little cousins and FH has lots of little nieces and nephews also cousins. So we madethe cut off at 16 being that my youngest brother will be that age. I had alot of arguements with FMIL about this cuz she thought it would be wrong not to have his neices and nephews there and I explained to her that I have alot of cousins and there would be arguements about why can this one bring their kid and I couldn't. Then I got sick of argueing with her so I told her you want kids there then you pay for all of the kids cuz Anthony and I are not doing it we don't want the kids. the only child that will be there is my daughter since she is the flower girl and if my cousin comes from florida she will ahve to bring her daughter. Thats it no one else.

Why not put him in the wedding somehow so no one has anything to say abou t him being there.

In this case its different they are babies and they live OOT so thats an exception and if anyone has anything to say about that then I would tell them why they were able to bring the baby. besides whats a baby gonna do sit in the corner in the carriage and be content not run all over the place

I'm having the same argument only with my mom about the kids. I like your idea of having him the wedding some how so no one can say anything. He will be 10 by next may. Is that to young to be a junior groomsman?
