No e-party

No e-party

My parents don't want me to have an e-party. They say that hispanics aren't used to so many parties, and probably won't participate. Now I must send out stds. Please show me what your stds look like. Thanks.

We didn't have an e-party...just a BBQ for the immediate families to meet....and I didn't do STD either.....everyone found out by word of mouth fast enough!

Our immediate family is too big. Having a small get together would include like 150 people. It's hard having so many relatives sometimes.

we didn't have an e-party either - I really didn't want one and just couldn't be bothered.

FH and I are sending Christmas Cards as our STDs with a pic on them. I think we're going to go with one of these styles, but still deciding. I wrote a poem for the inside.

Re: No e-party

We had a E-BBQ over the summer with like 60 people, just the BP and close family. Nothing formal. It was lots of fun for everyone, plus we had already registered for some stuff and some people got us gifts which was really sweet of them and a bonus for us. We're sending STD's for the holidays, you can see mine in my profile. Good luck!

Remember it's what you and your FI want to do not what your parents want.

No e-party here either. Just a dinner with both sets of parents. (My brother and SIL were supposed to attend but were having marital issues and FH's brother and SIL were living in Poland at the time)

I had one and I was also worried that my Latino family wouldn't understand it either. But they did just fine. They all participated and it was great because my family got to mix and mingle with his family. The hardest part was keeping the guestlist down to 50!!! If I were in your shoes, I'd have a small dinner party with just the closest family (extremely difficult, I know) and forget sending invites to anyone in DR (that's where you said some of there where right?)

I didnt have an e-party either. My mother had planned on having a BBQ for both famillies to meet but my FSIL messed that up, so my family took us out to celebrate. I am only having 75-85 people at the wedding so I didnt do STD's either. Anyone who is going to be invited already knows about it.

Re: No e-party

Well the invites for DR, I have to send. They are relatives that always come for special occasions, and we go to theirs. I might just have to keep it small, so FH and I can throw the party and so my parents won't have to worry. I'm gonna draw a guest list now, and see how many people would def. attend. Thanks for all the advice.
