i got engaged in 05, planning wedding for 2010. Is it bad that i did not have an engagement party?

no, there is no law that says that you need to have an engagement party. congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the boards.

I am not having an e-party b/c I feel they are very unnecessary. But if you want one, you can certainly still have 1!

Im not having one.. I feel guilty making people come to that then the wedding..

No offense to you guys I know theres a ton of people on here having parties. I dont think any different of you all. We all do our own thing! Besides, I cant really plan one right now. Too much going on!

i'm not having one either. i know alot of people who are married/engaged who never had an e-party. it's totally up to you if you want one or not.

i agree with everyone that it's totally up to you. Our family's know eachother so we don't need to have it for the meet the family aspect. also, i just don't have time to plan one...
