Is this true or are they being dishonest? My wedding date is 8/18/07 and I wanted to schedule a taste testing and they are trying to tell me that they don't do that. There is no way this can be true because it is important to know what your cuisine selections taste like. Has anyone had a taste testing at the CB recently?

Re: No food tasting at the Chateau Briand?
I do believe that is true. Here's a little secret for you though, they are having their Winter Bridal showcase on January 17, 2007 from 6-9 where they will have their full cocktail hour out that you can sample! It is yummy! Look on the Perfect Wedding Planner website under 'events' and you will see the specific date and details. The website is www.perfectweddingplanner.com/
Also, when you have your wedding there, they give all of your guests a choice of 7 different entrees so I guess they think there is not a need for a tasting if the couples don't need to narrow down the choices....??
Yes, it is a little odd though.

Re: No food tasting at the Chateau Briand?
It's true of all the Scotto Brothers' restaurants--Chateau Briand, Fox Hollow (and the Inn too), and Westbury Manor.
I was told by my banquet manager that they don't offer tastings because you don't get to choose the entrees on the menu--tastings are meant for you to select which entrees you want, and as the Westbury (and I assume the others too) have a standard menu for guests, they don't feel it's necessary.
The Westbury offers a discount to their restaurant (the food was superb). As I've heard, all Scotto Brothers' restaurants (and catering halls) have excellent food.

This is so not true! I have been promised a tasting on several occasions.

I was told no food tasting...as far as I remember they used to do it by giving you a GC to the restaurant, but they dont have the restaurant anymore b/c they turned it into a catering room.

Re: No food tasting at the Chateau Briand?
Um, that is verrrrry weird. I booked two weeks ago and while we were discussing various things I just asked if we can do a tasting. My BM said, sure.
We're going tonight! I don't think it will be a tasting of EVERYTHING on the menu - it's more like, come and get an idea of how the food is prepared and how good it is.
Honestly, there was NO hesitation on my BM's part when I asked about it. I called last week to schedule it for today and we're going with two friends.

Jack is why we did not even consider it. 15 phone calls in a matter of a week. i had all these messages from him. No other catering hall bothered me like that. Total turnoff.

Re: No food tasting at the Chateau Briand?
I was told the same thing about by my bm regarding the jericho terrace. he said we had to come to the next showcase. this is insane... if you have ever been to a showcase you know that the lines are sooooooooooooooo long and you are lucky to get food.
