No fun with a sick boy:-(

UGGGHHHH Just needed to vent. More poor son!! (He is 2) He caught coxsocie(spelling??)AND Impetigo!!! He had blisters in his mouth and on his throat AND on his chin just below his lip!
The poor thing was having a hard time drinking- he couldn't eat. Then he had a temperature so he had to drink some fluid or he would dehydrate!! So, there is Mommy telling him if he sips water through a straw I will jump up and down and dance. Well, that worked -- he sipped -cry ... then I would act like an idiot and he would laugh. This went on for 3 days. I had to sleep on the floor with him cause he was crying in his sleep , so i stayed there to rub him through the nite... it comforted him and he would fall right back to sleep. Yesturday was the first day he actually ate alot and drank normally. This has been going on since Tuesday. I am physical and mentally EXHAUSTED!
But, he is so much better now!! That seeing him back to normal out weighs my exhaustion. Thanx for reading(listening) Sorry so long just had to get this all out.

Re: No fun with a sick boy:-(

I'm glad to hear he is better. My son is 13 months & luckily hasn't been 'really' sick. We had a bit of a scare I met 2 girlfriends & their children for lunch yesterday. (We were all pregnant together) I got a phone call from one of my friends telling me her son was in the emergency room with 103 fever!!! She said it's just a virus & if Patrick didn't have a fever he should be fine. Mind you he's getting tired of me feeling his forehead!

Re: No fun with a sick boy:-(

I know that feeling of wondering if they will get what is going around. When someone who was sick with a fever was around Christopher I would take his temp while he was sleeping !! I was so paranoid!! As so long as he was asleep I could do it as often as I liked and it didn't bother him...lol.... The 1st 7 months of his life I always thought he felt warm I was forever taking his temp!! I wore out the batteries in the thermometer !! I'm not ususally paranoid like that. but, when it comes to a little one who can't fully explain what's wrong your heart breaks.
I hope Patrick stays well. Odds are he won't get it if he hasn't shown symptons already. This is only the begining .....glad we have this board
