I'm paying for the BM Dresses (they each get 2), and Hair.
I'll also provision for transportation, and *may* pay for their makeup.
Is it okay that they don't get a gift? I think the only thing I might be getting them is a Sephora gift certificate because I don't know if I'm going to pay for their Makeup.

Re: No Gifts for Bridesmaids
IMO, the GC and paying for the dresses is sufficient. Unless you want to pick up a small key chain or something so they can remember the day.

Wow, i think its good enough just paying for their gowns, (that so nice of you)but i would maybe do something small like a key chain maybe engraved, nothing to big considering you are already paying for so much. But just alittle reminder for them to remember your special day.

wow! You are generous! Paying for 2 dresses each, and transportation and hair?????? No gift necessary......a gift would be over doing it

well, IMO, it's generous of you to be paying for all that... but those are really gifts for yourself, so they can more easily afford to be in your wedding. i would still present them with a token of gratitude for standing up with you on yur wedding day. it can be something small, but heartfelt - even a poem i think in a nice frame or something like that would be sweet. i think you need to acknowledge their help and friendship in some way.

Re: No Gifts for Bridesmaids
I think that is plenty honestly because the gifts are usuaully to thank them for taking out the time AND money to be in your wedding. I ahd the same dilemna because 3 of my BMs are my younger cousins (ages 14-19) and they paid for NOTHING. I did or my mom did (it was my mothers idea not mine to put them in) and yet she STILL insisted they needed gifts (PFT!) so to keep peace I got them cheapie engraved mirror compacts and they are lucky they are getting that because NOT ONE of them has even CALLED or EMAILED to ask how the wedding plans are going.

I agree. the dresses alone are probably around $100. I wouldn't worry about it

I think that you've done enough for them already. If it was me I would be getting you a big gift for your bridal shower.

Re: No Gifts for Bridesmaids
There's a part of the wedding that's cultural. So, they will be getting Thai dresses for that part, and regular dresses for the reception.

I dont think a gift is necessary-if you feel guilty maybe get them something small, I like the idea of the key chain

Re: No Gifts for Bridesmaids
I'm in the same boat! I bought my girls their dresses (3) which ran around $900, I'm taking care of their hair, and transporation, and a hotel for the after party....
I was thinking of maybe picking up ballet slippers or flip flops for the ceremony and a small trinket...nothing crazy...I think that'll be just fine!
