No Grand Entrance

I mentioned this in another post and someone asked how we are planning to do this. Good question? Any ideas?

Our reception is outdoors (under tent), so I was thinking of possibly having the guests light sparklers (band's conmand), stand on the perimeter of the dance floor and we casually stroll over for our first dance.

Lame? Any others thoughts?

Re: No Grand Entrance

One of my friends did not have a 'grand entrance'. She and her husband entered the dinner with everyone else and then the band asked everyone to line the dance floor (like you're saying) and he announced that they would have their first dance. It didn't look strange or corny, it was fine.

Re: No Grand Entrance

I don't want a grand entrance, FH does (figures, he's such a ham). I want to just mingle with guests at the cocktail hour and skip the introductions. We are shooting to have ~100 guests so I want to keep things low-key. I don't know, still undecided about this one...

eta: we will have a receiving line at the church

This is what we're thinking too, but we haven't figured out the specifics. We are just not 'grand entrance' people...not that there's anything wrong with it.

Re: No Grand Entrance

Yeah, we're not sure either.

It hink you're sparkler idea is nice.

We also don't have a big bridal party so , we don't really have anyone to line up.

We are going to the coctail hour too, so its not like they haven't already seen us.

Orginally we weren't having a first dance either, but we might.

Depends on the band.
