No-& Guest?

No-& Guest?

Is anyone not giving the option of & guest. I want to, but it may wind up being to many people, but I don't want to insult anyone and have friends/family mad at me. We are paying for the whole wedding ourselves so I would think it's our choice, but i don't want controversy.

Has anyone else thought about it yet?

my fiancees friend only invited people with guests that were married or engaged. in otherwords, people with gfs or bfs did not have the '& guest' option.

coming from the other side, when back before we were engaged, my fiancee had been invited to a wedding without me, even though we were dating for 2 years. i was a little insulted, i will admit, however i got over it.

do what you can afford.

I'm taking it on a case by case scenario. In general, if someone has a 'steady', I'll invite them with guest out of respect. I was also thinking about my cousins, who are between 16 and 26 - I may invite them 'and guest' - if I don't know their status.

Like I said, case by case...

I totally agree case by case since i have 20 cousins most of them will be in this age braket. Yikes. I hope most of them are single then.

What we have decided to do is invite people who are single but in a relationship with a guest. If a person is not dating anyone at the time the invites go out, then they will not be invited with guests. We feel that is fair.

Definatly depends on the situation.
I have a lot of friends who are single, with steady BF's....and when the time comes ill see if they are still with them...if they are...ill invite guest....if not....i think im gonna keep it at one.....bc they will know other people there...so its not like they are going to be alone...

This is JMO.
the people who i am inviting with guest are married engaged and bf/gf.
single people if they are not in a relationship i will not invite with guest .
like my fh friends they dont have gf's nor are they taLking to any one so we won't invite with guest .

BUT JUST THINK if you were invited to a wedding and you and you're fh were not engaged yet but were in a long and serious relationship wouldn't you and you're bf be mad that you werent invited with guest???

if i was not engaged and was only dating my fh and in a long relationship and was not inviting with guest i would be insulted
but thats JMO

I was in a wedding party of a former friend and I was not invited with a guest. Although I wasn't dating anyone I thought it was tacky because I would have liked the option. If I were a regular guest it would have been ok but a bridesmaid....and she didn't even say to me 'look we are cutting down the guest list'... I found out when I got the invite!

That's pretty much what I plan to do as well.

This is our intention too.

I have to invite everyone with a guest. At least everyone over the age of 18. I feel it is only fair to the person coming to have that option. I have been to weddings that I was not invited with a guest and it sucked, most of the time I had a steady boyfriend.

i agree with the situation that if they are with a 'steady.' only then will they be invited w/a guest. however, i am NOT inviting my fbil's w/a guest. a - they won't bring anyone, and b-if they do, i will not get a gift from the girl they bring and i don't want them bringing their friends, so they get a free meal and beers all night. at the time of the wedding, one will be 23 and the other will be 21. things may change, but i already told my fmil this and she agrees with me.
