Help! I need to figure out how to put on invitation that kids are NOT invited...i ran into a problem where I ASSUMED people would know and found out that some didn't...how can I nicely and tactfully say this? Help! I really don't want to have to write this on there but there is no way of getting the word around to everyone.

Re: No Kids at the wedding
our response cards say how many seats are reserved for them.. i figure if there are 4 in the family and it says 2 seats are reserved.. it will be obvious enough

ITA!!!
But still brace yourself for the ppl who lack common sense. I only say this because I too put 'ADULT' reception on the reception card. I even underlined it. Not only that, I personalized every ones rsvp card to say the specific names of the ppl to attend along with putting the names on the inner AND outer envelopes and do you know that i STILL had ppl responding with a higher number than what the invite was for. And when Fh and I told them kids were NOT allowed, they seemed surprised and confused

That does sound a bit kinky!!!
My wedding is an adult only affair as well although we do have a few teenagers that are invited. For those few people I am going to write Mr. bla bla and family. For everyone else I am going to write Mr. bla bla and guest. I am sure some people will still try to include their children but that is when my parents intervene!

I don't understand why people don't understand this. You have to pay for them, at least half price, they take up valuable space, and especially for night time weddings it is simply not appropriate.
Yet we are all struggling with this issue. Why do people insist on always having their kids instead of looking at it as an enjoyable night off.

Re: No Kids at the wedding
well i just think some people woukd not mind them taking up the space..like i said i think its fine if u do fine if u dont but it really frosts my cookies when people say its wrong to invite kids yes its wrong to assume they r invited or add them on but if u want them then u should not be made an outcast to have it the way u want..weddings come in all diffrent styles and traditions and they should all be respected
