NO LINE DANCING

NO LINE DANCING

I noticed quite a few brides seem to have an edict against line dancing, etc.. at the wedding. No Macarena, No Electric Slide, No Conga...

Now I never really thought about it to be honest, but I have to admit... I kinda have fun with these types of dances. I think it is a riot when all the women go rushing to the floor to show their hot moves. And the floors always seem to get packed for those organized dances.

So for those of you who don't want them... is there any particular reason? Do you think nobody will like them so you are banning them...? I am just curious.

I - personally - am putting 'Cotton Eyed Joe' on my MUST play list for my girlfriends from college!

It was a no-no for DH. He made me promise not to have them OR the chicken dance. LOL

My dad owns an entertainment business which I have worked for since I was 14... FH has been in the business for 4 years... everytime we hear a line dance type song we cringe... any song you hear too many times you aren't going to like unfortunately.

FH really wants the chicken dance he loves it
It really cracks him up

and I promised my little sister that I would play Cotton Eye Joe

We just didn't want to be forced out on the floor and forced to do them...so we elminated them to be sure it didn't happen. DH and I are not big on dancing in general. That and I went to a wedding once where they did them and it annoyed ME. I'm sure that bride loved it though.

I totally agree with you... I think line dances get a lot of people on the floor. I personally get up everytime I hear one. I'm having them - to an extent. Cotton Eyed Joe, electric slide and cha-cha slide. Maybe the dollar song (my fav).. hee hee.

I think some people don't find them appropriate for a wedding.

It's funny though, at the weddings that I've been to that have played those songs, the dance floor gets packed when they are played (especially Cotton Eyed Joe and Cha-Cha Slide).

I just find the songs very annoying...wedding after wedding. I'd rather do something different than the line dancing.

We have guests that would dance to those types of songs, however we can't stand them and find them irritating to say the least!

I love these pics! Looks like fun

I'm sorry but I think I'm gonna have to have the Electric Slide... I couldn't imagine celebrating with family & friends without it! My great grandfather taught it to my cousins and I when we were super young and so I've LOVED it since then!
