No longer a 2010 Bride

Hi ladies, due to some financial issues FH and I are no longer getting married this year!! waaaaaaaaaaaaa.....

However, we are doing it in April of 2011 (don't have an exact date yet). So depressing.

My girls already bought their dresses in expresso (fall color) .... what are your opinions on using this color for spring?

I say go for it. I'm using a darker color in the spring, and I really don't care if you're 'not supposed to.' LOL.

love it. Theres no need to worry about the time of year with neutrals.

you'll always be welcomed on our 2010 board though

i think espresso color (or any color for that matter) is fine for spring-time

totally use the same dresses. neutrals work whenever. if the dress works with a sash, add a light pink or light blue sash to spring it up. just use spring flowers too will help. no worries. better to move the date then to hvae $$$ issues. good move.

I'm using a dark color in April as well. It will look just fine esp if it's what you want. Good luck with everything!!

Don't worry too much about it, you have to do the right thing for you and FH. I say go ahead and use the espresso! My girls will be in black dresses in May!

espresso color is fine for spring-time - any color goes any time of the year! - if you want to lighten it up maybe pair it with light flowers

You can always add a sash or a broche to the dress to change the look. You can also use colorful flowers.

I don't think there are really 'rules' anymore. You can use whatever you like whenever you like.

April is a beautiful month and think how much more spectacular your day will be with more time to save and plan!

Aww.

The darker color in the spring could work really well! Imagine the contrast between the espresso and the blooming flowers!

I think it's a great color for April! You know what though? I don't think anyone cares about what colors go with what season. Yes, it's a good guideline, but in the end, it's about what YOU (and maybe FH) like.

About 5 years ago, I wore a black BM dress for a wedding in August and it was perfect.

I'm sorry about your wedding getting pushed back but hey, now you have more time to plan and maybe get better deals!

and i also give you guys credit for making that decision of postponing! your both being realistic and know NOT to push it if your not financially ready at this time.
