ive read a few people say they had their food tastings at Russo's on a weekend. The FW called a few months back and was told no, and then tried again a few days ago, this time pointing out how her step mother lives in Maryland, and was still told no to a weekend. She was told with parties going on, its too hectic. If anyone has set up their food tasting on a weekend, please tell me how you managed to pull that off. We were told its only Wednesday and Thursdays at 8pm.

We had no problem setting it up for a weekend. We did it for a Saturday night in January. I called up my BM *(Audrey) and told her that we needed it for the weekend bc my DH's father lives in MA. No issues what so ever...it was Jan 2011, so maybe since then they've changed their policy, but when we did it, we piggybacked off a party...it was a union party they were having in the Tivoli room. We (my parents, DH's parents, and the 2 of us) didn't get there 8pm (there was another couple there as well) and they set us up where the cocktail hour room would be. The other couple was there as well.
I would ask when their policy changed because that doesn't seem right. The union party that was taking place was the only party there so maybe see if there's a weekend where there's only one party so that they aren't 'as busy'.

It took me a few extra phone calls, but thankfully they let us have a Saturday night tasting. in January. They told me they did change their policy, but they let us do it anyway. My FW is very happy, so im happy.

I thought i should share this with anyone using Russos who runs into a similar problem. My fiance called at 530 just to double check and about what we should wear, etc. and the receptionist said they didnt have us booked for a food tasting that night. So she asked who we spoke to. We told her we spoke to the same person who booked us. She gets on the phone and tells my fiance she never spoke to me about doing it on a Saturday and that they dont it for 8 people. Long story short, they were able to accommodate us for that night, but its VERY unsettling that a place with the reputation that Russos has would let something like this fall through the cracks, and even worse, DENY that we ever had a conversation when we very clearly had several.
