Re: no petals at church
My church really 'frowns' upon it. I think we are going to do bells tied to a string and people can ring them.

Re: no petals at church
I think a lot of churches don't really allow it but some do it anyway.
Mine doesn't allow it either but it really doesn't bother me. I may look into bridal rice, but not positive yet.

Re: no petals at church
my church doesn't allow it either, claiming it can stain their concrete....
I like the idea of silk flowers - wonder what that would cost - and I wonder if that's acceptable given the fear of slipping...anyone know?

Re: no petals at church
I have to check w/my church but I think that they don't allow it either. Its about the cleanup and not having someone to do it.
I have yet to ask...I hope we can!
I guess bubbles is the only way to go. You cant throw anything anymore, no seeds, rice, potpourri etc.

Re: no petals at church
My priest said he highly discouraged it. I think I am going to do it anyway. It will be more on the sidewalk then the actual church - their stairs are small. He said no throwing flowers at all in the chruch bc they stain the floor??

Re: no petals at church
We're not allowed to throw anything. The bell ribbon wands probably look nice in pictures so maybe we'll do that.

I am devastated! I just found out that my church does not allow rose petals to be thrown on their property. They claim it is a liability and someone can slip!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so sad because I love the way pics come out with the petals flowing in the air
Does anyone have any suggestions for doing something else that would allow me to get the flowers in??????
I know there is always bubbles, but i really wanted the flowers!!!!
P.S...I know I have over a year to stress this...but i can't help feeling soooo dissapointed !!!
Mine doesn't either, but I feel there a few ways of looking at the situation.
1. You can just throw the petals the day of. What are they gonna do? Take back your marriage???
2. Throw petals and offer to have someone there to clean up immeadiately afterward.
3. Throw bridal rice.
4. Go the bubble route. I saw someone have the bubbles in their picture colored the way they color rose petals. I have to admit it looked pretty cool.
HTH!!!

mine doesn't either, but we are doing it anyway! They said as long as someone cleans it up fine. Well I will throw my little cousin 20 bucks and he will be the happiest kid on earth!

Re: no petals at church
I am more of a bubble person myself but my church has strict rules about this...ask them for other ideas they have seen and go with the suggestions. Something not mentioned is doves? I guess everything else has been said or played out. Sorry
