'no shows'

what do you about 'no shows'? i have a few that still have not contacted me. some i considered friends. they told me that they wouldnt miss it

***

should i reach out to them? make them feel bad? lol...or just cut my losses?

just started thinking bout this, cuz my friends got me going last night and we almost called one girl to confront the situation (i mean its over $300 easy for the plates), but we had the wrong number

and now im on my facebook messages and i see another no-show friend that said they wouldnt miss it.

like really?? apparently you would.

if u dont care bout your firendship with them (i wouldnt care).. make a fb status.. and clal them out.. link their names to it...so ALL of their friends see it,too

honestly i would just cut your losses. I know its incredibly frustrating but don't let it stress you out. I'm sure you had a fabulous day whether they were there or not. it's their loss

maybe you should find out why they didnt come first, the last thing you want is doing that and then finding out something serious happened that prevented them from coming

Re: 'no shows'

I'd probably say something like 'what happened to you, I thought you said you were coming?' and then after their BS excuse, i'd say something like 'i wish you would've told me earlier so i could've told the RH in time to remove you from the list'

(that's what FH and I did at our engagement party with the no-show)

We had 10 no shows, I just cut my losses, its their loss that they missed out, we had an awesome time and too bad they had a lame excuse for missing out

sorry barb, i'm gonna have to disagree.

they're morons for not showing and not saying anything about it.

but don't be a moron with them. doing what barb is suggesting is bound to start LOADS of drama.

and there's going to be at least one person out there who sees you do that and says 'wow, not really classy'

you don't want anyone saying that about you.

call them privately ... 'hey we missed you at the wedding and i hadn't heard from you. is everything okay?'

that should be enough.

I would ask them why they were a 'no show' maybe they had an emergency. . . . . but if it is something lame I would let them know how much money you lost for them not being there.

Re: 'no shows'

DH's has a friend he's known all his life and he said yes he's coming and he never showed and never told us congrat's. Neither of us have said a thing to him since the wedding; he's getting married soon, I don't plan on going out of my way to be all happy for them when he didn't show any happiness for us (the couple he's always wanted to be like).

I don't plan on saying anything to him; not sure about DH; he hasn't said anything about it other than 'he told everyone he was coming and didn't show.'

I'm just leaving it all alone. Those who cared came to share in our day and that's all that matters to us.

Re: 'no shows'

all of our no shows with the exception of one couple, either called earlier that day or at least sent us a card and gift with an apology.

for the people we didnt hear from, we just let it go. their loss not mine. we just wont go out of our way to make contact

Re: 'no shows'

wow thats not cool at all........................

i would call them up and say 'what happened to you?? i didnt see you at the wedding??? is everything ok??' and see what their response is.

maybe something happened to a couple of them thats understandable, and then youll regret judging them before you know all the information. if its nothign understandable, i would be pissed and make it known. its one thing to RSVP NO (you might be upset because they cant make it), but its another to RSVP YES and then not show up for a stupid reason.

we had a good time regardless, and they are the ones that missed out. but i am ready to defriend these ppl. its frustrating when i see them come up on my FB wall talking about BS topics.

idk, 3 weeks later? if there was an emergency, shouldnt they contact me?

yeah...ill reach out.....so annoying. i want to make them feel guilty. its not like it was a potluck wedding!
