soooo, my mom planned and booked my shower i guess a while ago....when i mentioned that i hope it was a sunday because i WORK SATURDAYS she got this look on her face....
guess what? SHE BOOKED A SATURDAY AND CAN'T CHANGE IT!
so now i know my shower is June 5th. at least i can make sure i take the day off and look nice.
anyone else having a NON-surprise shower? do you care?

I do! I wanted it this way, actually. I knew I'd figure it out somehow, especially when a family member or friend invites me for 'brunch' or for a 'birthday'. I felt silly dressing up for it and then making pretend to be surprised.
I'm getting my makeup done! It'll still be great, don't worry!!!

Yeah ive known about mine also- just makes it easier for my mom/ bridal party I think. Plus i want to look good that day lol going to get my makeup done...and thinking about my hair- but something casual!

My shower is supposed to be a surprise, but my mom keeps accidentally giving up info, lol. But I have a feeling I know when it is. Mine has to be a Sunday because I also work on Saturdays.
ETA: But YAY! Your shower is on my wedding day!

Mine is not a surprise, I went with my mom to book the place. Mom doesn't drive, and she said she didn't want to bring my dad with her.
I have way too much family from out of state on both sides, I would not have been a surprise for long. And I'm kinda shy, so I really didn't want all the attention of walking into the room.

mine isn't planned yet but wont be a suprise because i have fly to michigan for it. can't really swing a suprise when a 700 mile trip is involved, you know?

I am having a non surprise shower and my shower is also June 5th. I know the date and time thats it. I now can do my hair nad makeup and look nice. I wanted to know because since I finished chemo and this new curly hair is growing in its ooc.

my sister (MOH) keeps talking to me about it, but I kind of want it to be a surprise. She thinks it doesn't have to be. She didn't want a surprise, so she's getting back at me I guess... I just don't want to deal with planning one more thing... My parents are givingme enough trouble as it is............. we'll see what happens

Mine isn't a surprise. I actually don't like surprises all that much and would have badgered them until the told me anyway. I'm not involved in any of the planning, I don't care about that part of it so much but I wanted to know when so I could at least make sure I look nice. I know a lot of girls are giving their mom's their dresses to change into but on a normal weekend I'm a no makeup/hair not done kinda gal so even if she had the dress, there is a very good chance that I would still look like a hot mess in a cute dress... and lord knows my legs probably wouldn'y be shaved so I wouldn't be able to put the dress on anyway LOL!!!
