'No-Video' Couples...

'No-Video' Couples...

Another curious question... (also open to those doing a professional video)

would anyone consider the following ...

let someone go to your wedding (ceremony and/or reception) to gain experience in videotaping the event .. in exchange for a copy of the raw tape??? (Either free or minimal charge)

Im not doing it but i would consider it....Ya know the last few videos I saw were not that impressive, and I havent had many friends watch their videos more then once or twice, its great to have for the future but if you thought they would do a decent job, I would do it...some people dont even have videos these days

I probably would. I wasn't interested in anything fancy, just the ceremony on tape. I am happy with a family member catching with their camcorder.

thats a good way to go. if you get raw footage, you can make somthing your self, or pay someone else a heck of a lot less to edit it. I put together simple home movies. it's not hard and some of the software you might already have. let me know if you want more info

I would, but only if the person had done documentaries before and you knew that they knew how to be unobtrusive and to think on their feet. go to www.craigslist.org and you'll find people like that probably.

totally...

actually i am leaving this option open for a friend of ours who had purchased professional grade equipment but has yet to really use it as much as he would like.

i think the most important thing in this situation is to make sure the person is truly unobtrusive. i would look for a personality comparable to yours and FH's if electing to go this route.

Yes, I would have considered that option had it been free. IT is a win-win situation...I'm sure nsgraham has something like that on her vendor webpage.

I am not planning on a video so yes, I would consider that because then it'd be there if I'd have a sudden urge 15 years from now to watch it but it's not something I'm willing to budget for.

Is this a hypothetical or something that may be happening? If it's someone you know, FM me with the details, I'd definitely at least consider it.

i would have. we even toyed with buying a video cam, which we would want to buy anyway, and hire a friend of fh brother to tape it just so we have it. our video package is a gift, so i am psyched b/c that was where we were going to skimp, so yes, i would have done that. i think it is important to have SOME video...just to catch what goes by so quickly.
