Noisy neighbor: Call the Apt manager or leave him a note?

My neighbor has a tendency to blast his tv in the evening, loud enough for it to be heard in my bedroom. I can't sleep, and when I can't sleep, I don't function well and get really pissed off. I don't know whether to leave him a note on his door asking him to please lower the volume on his TV, or call the rental company first. Any suggestions?

Leave him note first, but if it doesn't get better, call the rental company.

i had the same situation last year. i contacted the management company SEVERAL times. i didn't want to deal with the neighbor on my own. thankfully there were so many complaints the tenant was asked to leave the building.

I live in a condo complex and we were given a number to call if our neighbors are noisy after a certain hour. We told that it is best to let them deal with it so we don't have to have confrontations.
