Non-matronly MOB dress?

Non-matronly MOB dress?

We need some help. My mom does not feel comfortable in strapless (or adding spaghetti straps for that matter) and we have been unable to find a dress with some sort of sleeve that is not a total grandma get up. Do you have any pics of a MOB gown that is not strapless?

My mother wore a strapless that came with a black jacket to my sister's wedding, I'll try to post a pic (sorry it's a little dark) ....

hmmm, I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, it shows up in the preview....

this is my mom's - it is strapless, but the jacket is sheer enough that she won't have to take it off at all. my mom was the same at first, she would only try on dresses with sleeves, but you are right -they are all too matronly!

Here are a few that my Step Mom tried on. The designer is Junnie Leigh and are available at Bridal Reflections! HTH!!

Hey K,
Maybe your mom and my mom should shop together
My mom is looking for a dress with a fitted sheer sleeve (think Helen Mirren at the Oscars) with a straight bottom. We went out a few weeks ago and went to 4 places and she tried on a total of 3 dresses
I think she'll find something at Saks or Lord & Taylor, moreso than a bridal shop.

I saw that. Thanks! My mom wasn't into the middle or bottom. I tell ya, she's one picky woman.

check out the Mon Cheri and Jade by Jasmine websites. I had the same issues with my mom (she flat out REFUSED to wear strapless or spaghetti straps - she said she needed to wear a regular bra). The girl at the salon brought in a dress that had a portrait neckline (off the shoulder) and made her try it on, and it was gorgeous!!! She absolutely loved it so that's what she ended up with.

This is my mom's dress (but the one she bought didn't have those sheer sleeves) but it's in wine/burgundy color. The pics don't do it justice. There's beading on the bodies and on the hem all the way around the layers.

My mom's looks more like the bottom dress in person (just different material, beading, and w/o the asymmetrical bodice)
