We have a DJ for our ceremony (at RH), and want to be different with the music...
This is what I know so far: BMs walk down to Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Hawaiin version from 50 1st Dates) I'm walking down to an instrumental version of Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles.
But, I'm stumped beyond that......Anyone else using a DJ or going the non-traditional route, what are you using?
I need songs for the Prelude, Grandparents and mom being seated, and for the Recessional....
We did the same thing, got married outside the RH and had our DJ do the ceremony music. These are the songs we used:
BP Processional: From This Moment by Shania Twain Bride's Processional: Forever in Love by Kenny G Lighting of Unity Candle: I Do (Cherish You) by 98 Degrees Recessional: I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith
Prelude will be 'Watercolor' by Willy Porter, the bridal party is walking in to pachabel's canon (sp?) to throw everyone off, then I'm walking in to 'At Last' by Etta James, we're walking out to 'Love of My Life' by DMB
BP Processional: 'The Prayer' My Entrance: 'All I Ask of You' (Phantom) Vows: 'Thank you' Led Zeppelin Sand Ceremony: 'Come What May' Moulin Rouge Rose to Moms: 'You Raise Me Up' Josh Groban Recessional: 'Bittersweet Symphony' The Verve
we had a string trio playing all of these and it sounded AWESOME
Our prelude music was mostly instrumental movie/show tunes stuff--we didn't want anything playing that was composed by anyone who died more than 200 years ago.

i DO love classical music (played the violin for years and own allll kinds of those cd's) just didn't want it for the wedding. some ppl thought we were weird for having it--then HEARD the music and loved it!

I plan to fake everyone out w/ a little hear comes the bride and then bam, switch it up...NOTHING traditional for me!!!
I wanted to walk down the isle to an instrumental version of Imagine by John Lennon, But FH absolutely refused. The only thing he's been adamant on. He loves the song but thinks it's inappropriate for a wedding.
I used a classical piece for the bridal party, but used From This Moment On by Shania Twain for the bride's processional, and This Will Be by Natalie Cole for the recessional.
