non-weightgaining birth control pill???

i was on ortho in the past and it made me gain weight and I hated how i felt so much that i stopped taking the pill all together.

Now I'm looking into a pill again and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Let me know what is good/bad about pills you've been on. It seems like Yaz might be a good option based on other posts I've been reading. I really need help with this one girls!! I REALLYYYY don't want to gain weight again!!!

i use Loestrin and i havent gained any weight and your period will be like 3 days its great ...

I also use Loestrin 24 without weight gain.

Yasmin was the best BCP in the world... I can't take it anymore, but not for the reaon you are mentioning - I was on it for a few years. Ortho made me sick and bloated and the others I tried gave me bad headaches. Yasmin had no side effects. I just happen to have inherited the Factor 5 gene - predisposes me to blood clotts so I can't be on BCPs anymore.

I know how you feel!! I was on the Pill (about 4 different kinds) for only 1 year, and I gained 35 pounds!!!

I quit taking it and am so scared to go back on it

I would try a low hormone pill, but you should really ask your doctor what he/she thinks. It will depend person to person pill to pill...

I have been on seasonal and now seasonique without gaining any weight, at least not that i have noticed...been using it for 2 1/2 years now.

The thing is, everyone is different in how they respond to BCP. I've heard so many different stories. The only universal difference is in how low-dose your pill is--the lower the dose, generally the fewer side effects, like weight gain, that you get.

I use the NuvaRing and I love it. You only have to think about it twice a month, when you take it out after three weeks, and when you put a new one in a week later. It's one of the lowest dose hormonal BC's you can get, and since you're not swallowing it, many women get few side effects. The only bad thing I've heard is that some women's partners can feel the Ring during sex, and some women think it's uncomfortable to have in all the time. It doesn't bother either me or my fiance, so it's great for us. Your gyn probably has a free sample in her office, mine did, so ask about it.

I'm so scared too! What 4 kinds did you try? Wow thats so many in a year, I can't believe you didn't like any of them! We need like the lowest possible hormone dose I think to be safest.

Thanks everyone else, I have some ideas now, but I think you're all right that my doc will prob have some good advise

I couldn't agree more. I've been on Yasmin for 5 years...was on 3 others before that...it's great!!
Oh, and I lost weight from dieting and exercise while on it, so I don't think there's a weight gain problem with it!! HTH!

Talk to your doctor! There is no one pill that won't cause anyone to gain weight. The weight gain (if any) is for different reasons in different people...
