Does anyone know what bakery the NRC uses for wedding cakes? I'm debating whether or not to use the one that they provide or buy one seperately. I want something different and I'm not sure if they can accomodate that.
What was everyone's experience with this? TIA!

I'm not sure what bakery they use, they may be their own baker. But I know they don't do the fondant. Only buttercream or whipped cream. They are pretty good with accomdating your style though. The taste of the cake was really good! You can just send them a picture and they will show their baker and let you know if they can do it. Hope that helped!

I believe they make their cakes at the North Ritz Club. That's what they told me at least....the cake was really good :)

Actually, as I remember it .... NRC owns the Diner next door, and that is where the cakes are baked!
I don't believe they adjust the price at all if you bring in your own cake, but I'm pretty sure they don't charge a cutting/serving fee either.
ETA: And like the PP said, its only whipped cream or butter cream for the outside - no fondant.

My wedding is not till may 09 and i am going for a food tasting on wed....you girls were all happy with your food, right? I havent heard any negative comments yet, but i wanna b sure!

Divine. The only way I can describe the food. Take notes as you taste so this way you can remember when it comes time to pick your menu.

Yes, definitely take notes ... because you won't get another tasting with them before your wedding since you're having it now ... and you won't remember what you liked when its time to pick them menu in June 2009!

i'm trying to hold off as long as I can for my food tasting, even though mine is this nov. I want to remember how it all tastes lol
