North Shore Vineyards

One more question - thanks for your help!

We are looking to take a day trip next Sunday, does anyone have any vineyards or restaurants that we should visit? We haven't yet visited any North Shore vineyards at all.

TIA!

We are recent big fans of Lieb however the tasting room is very small. But you do get very good cheese with the tasting. (We actually made a special trip there this past weekend for the cheese!)

We used to always do a vineyard run specifically to go to Osprey's.

We've also done Pindar (which I feel is over-rated) and Pellegrini recently.

I've done some others but can't remember

Re: North Shore Vineyards

for my bachlorette party we did
martha clara - great area to sit outside
Lieb - we had the cheese and crackers outside and some good wine

Macari - really good pear chardoney

Pindar- its free but crowded

we just explored and went whereeer we felt like -there are some good ones that people don't go too often

just grab a map and ask around based on what you like

for dinner - the frisky oyster in greenpoint is delicious - need a reservation usually

I'm biased, but I love Raphael. Other wineries we liked are Paumanok, Pindar, Macari, Gallucio, and The Old Field.

For some really unique wines and combinations of wines try Chandling Daughters. Nice people and small and intimate.

I also know I have posted before, but if your looking for a nice place to hang out and have some really different wine and some great cheese or chocolate fondue to boot, try Taost in Port Jefferson. Nice music and atmosphere to go along with it. And they don't care how long you sit and chat. I love it there, but maybe I shouldn't tell everyone because it is small and I might not get a table next time I go!
