Not a bridal question but......

How often do you get the advice of so many girls in one place?????
Does anybody know how to make a diaper cake for a baby shower????
Any ideas would be helpful!

Re: Not a bridal question but......

I made one for a friend of mine. I went to Babys R US and purchase the cloth diapers. I made three tiers. I rolled the diapers to make each tier and held them together with pearl hairpins. Jennbaby had a post the other day showing a cake her friend made out of towels. It is the same type of design. For the baby shower I made 3 tiers and decorated it with pink and blue silk flowers that I bought at Micheals along with some of those minature baby bottles. It was adorable. I 'served' it up on a heavy piece of cardboard that I wrapped in white wrapping paper.

Good Luck, they are fun to make.

Here is how to make a towel cake. Maybe this will help?

A 'Wedding Towel Cake' serves as a unique centerpiece for a bridal or wedding shower. Initially decorated with ribbons and flowers as well as items that can be used in the new home, the towels can later be used to stock the new linen closet.

Materials You Will Need:
2 White Bath Towels
2 White Hand Towels
2 White Face Towels
Box of Safety Pins
Decorative ribbon
Real or silk flowers
Step 1
Take one of the bath towels and, along one of the long ends of the towel, fold towards the middle.

Step 2
Then, fold it again to meet the other end of the towel.

Step 3
Fold the towel again in half. Repeat Step 1 through 3 for the second bath towel.

Step 4
With the first bath towel, begin at the short end and roll tightly towards the other short end.

Step 5
With a safety pin, connect the short end of the rolled towel to a short end of the second folded bath towel. With both towels now pinned together, continue to roll the towel until it reaches the end.

Step 6
Place this first layer of towels aside. Repeat Step 1 through 6 for the sets of hand towels and face towels.

Step 7
Pile the layers atop one another, beginning with the first layer of towels. Your 'cake' is now formed.
