Not a good 24 hours... I'm mad and sad UPDATED ON PAGE 2
Original post by David'sbride
OK, so some of you know the drama/trauma I delt with yesterday. The FMing back and forth and e-mailing, researching, etc. took over THREE HOURS of my work day. Thank you so much to all of the girls who took time out to communicate with me.
All of this while I was trying to grade the Global History Regents exams that came in. We have 200 kids in the class, every kids writes two essays and every essay must be graded by two teachers. for the first time in my teaching career I could barely concentrate on them and still can't. I was here at school grading until 10:30 pm. and they MUST be done today.
I went home, FH was sleeping and barely slept a wink all night, really bad dreams. Until yesterday, I was a cool as a cucumber about my wedding now I am not.
Despite the fact that one of my colleagues was chosen NY State Teacher of the Year two days ago our community voted down our school budget for a second time. The increase would have been on average $60 a year and we are the second lowest paid district in Nassau. A good friend of mine just lost her job after 8 years working here.
Sorry girls. I am sooooooo stressed and none of it is my doing. FH was so sweet to me this morning, he says he wishes I could just quit and find something else and I told him... not so easy when you have taught in the same district for 9 years. I put in at least 60 hours a week and no one, except FH, seems to notice or care.
I think the combination of that and the other drama from yesterday is really affecting my ability to think straight.
Can I get some hugs?
TIA

Re: Not a good 24 hours... I'm mad and sad
The drama regarded a particular vendor. I can't really say anymore right now, especially since my wedding is in 11 days I don't want any retribution. The vendor is a vendor on this site. I am very thankful to the many brides who FMed me regarding their experiences with this vendor on their wedding day. I promised all of the girls that I would not devulge who they are and I am sticking to that... I am a person of my word.
This vendor has been spoken to, actually e-mailed so I have written documentation of the conversations we have had and how I am aware of other bride's recent experiences (not positive ones). This vendor has assured me that the upmost professionalism will be maintained for my wedding day. I think this vendor now realizes how many brides are unhappy.
Ladies, we all must speak up. If you feel like you have not gotten what you deserve you must say something, if you feel the vendor is in the wrong, make sure your contract is VERY SPECIFIC AND HAVE NUMEROUS UPDATED COPIES. I read several reviews about this vendor but only one was completely honest. Some ladies gave this vendor an OK review but then they were all e-mailing me the real story yesterday. Had we had the truth I would not have lost over 3 hours of my day dealing with this yesterday.
If you speak and are not heard and the vendor is not living up to the contract and is not professional you need to write an honest review. AND HONEST REVIEWS, BOTH GOOD AND BAD, SHOULD BE KEPT UP ON THIS SITE EVEN IF A VENDOR IS A PAID ADVERTISER!!! otherwise, how do we know the truth? Next, if you get no response from the vendor or a completely inadequate response you need to do three things:
1. Talk to other brides who used the vendor and be willing to talk to other brides and gather your info.
If it comes to it (and it hasn't yet with me; you are reasonable in your complaint, you were specific and you tried):
2. FM Ron and tell him
3. Contact the BBB and file a complaint/small claims court
I can't say anymore. I just hope this vendor does right by me and my FH. I am not taking any further action because this vendor did assure me that my day will go fine. At this point I can only hope and pray and YES, it is causing MUCH unneeded stress right now.
Thanks for all of the hugs... everyone who has ever said to me I should have gone to law school, yes, you are right
