Not a Pretty Posting
My college roommate -who lives in South Jersey (it's been about 25 yrs, hmmm) called me yesterday and told me her son was dead, he fell asleep at the wheel and hit head on w/ a Bronco, 2 miles from home Saturday night, he was 17. I am in some sort of shock, have been...
I called my father in Florida yesterday to tell him since he knows the family and the boys, and he sounded like he had had a stroke...He said he had the flu, but for some reason I went on the internet -looked up his neighbors phone # and called the neighbor and asked him to look in on my father and take him to the hospital--which he did. My dad is a diabetic and he is dehydrated, his sugar is up to 584 (normal is 150ish), or it was 684, can't remember. He is confused, and not well... of course my emotions are a bit elevated on this!
Today, my 2 yr old neice who lives in Chicago, is having surgery --
I came to work and threw myself into my work, and now I just can't concentrate---I am anticipating flying to Florida after the funeral, but feel okay that he is in the hospital, but he is alone, which is the hard part for me, him being alone. My gut tells me to wait until he is about to be released so I can be there for him when he gets home--take my vacation early--he is a stubborn man and I want to be there for him, I want to be there for my girlfriend as well, she is a mess, so is her husband---I want to be in all places at once and I can't.
Do I hop on a flight now, wait a few days, I don't know....anyone have a thought on this one?
Thanks.![]()
