Not a typical Bridal Shower

My mom has been annoying me to figure out what to do for my bridal shower since she knows I don't want a 'typical' party - meaning I do not want to play games, open presents or sit around and do girlie activities. This is just not my personality what-so-ever. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do in place of a bridal shower without making people feel uncomfortable and actually enjoy themselves? Ideally, a laser tag party would be awesome, but clearly that is not happening :p

Not a typical Bridal Shower - Long Island Weddings

My friend had a Zumba shower at a dance studio! It was so much fun! There was an instructor for about 45min and then they catered in food. There were no games, but she did open gifts.

my cousin had an early evening shower with a DJ and had belly dancers doing lessons lol it was alot of fun.. they also had 'be a dear and wrap in clear' on the invitations so that she didn't have to unwrap anything at the shower

Not a typical Bridal Shower - Long Island Weddings

My friend wants to have a wine tasting for her shower. I've also been to one where it was a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme. Everyone wore black dresses. pearls, and their hair up. She didn't register for much, just toward her honeymoon so there wasn't much present opening. It was just mimosas and a good time. I questioned the idea at first but it was a blast!

I'm in the same boat as you. Def don't want a typical shower. I was thinking of doing a cocktail type party. I'm not registering for much either, but do have a honeymoon fund. These are all cute ideas. I'm just not sure what to do. I gotta decide quick though, times runnin out!

I'm a girly girl, I'm all for the stereotypical shower. We are doing it at the house though to give a more relaxed vibe

I have no idea where or when my shower is (I have a feeling it's going to be March 1) but I specifically requested that there are no games or anything either. I personally don't care for them - I want just a regular party where people catch up with one another, drink and have a good time! I have heard of a wine tasting bridal shower - I have never been to one but that's right up my alley! I would love that!

Not a typical Bridal Shower - Long Island Weddings

I was really researching over the weekend and googling 'unique bridal showers' and fun things came up. I know of a plaster craft place near my apartment where you can rent out the private room and bring cake, food and wine and everyone can just paint. Or one of those paint along classes as well does private parties. Also, I see Sprinkles Cupcakes in the city has a private room upstairs for parties that you can do a cupcake decorating party. Things like that might be fun. Keeps everyone entertained.

Love the paint along idea. I saw a groupon for a painting thing at a bar that looked fun. Never thought of it for a shower idea. Did you decide on anything yet? I'm gonna go google now. Lol

Yeah, I always see the paint along places at bars. There is one in Huntington that is a painting studio, not a bar. So that is used for private parties and stuff. I just had another arguement with my mom regarding having a laser tag party lol she told me I was killing her. I have a feeling either the paint along or plaster craft party will happen for me.

My mom says that to me about anything wedding related, lololol. I sent her a pic of the shoes I wanted and her exact response was 'you're trying to kill me' lol
