Re: not doing a sweetheart table?
We are doing a sweetheart table. Our bridal party is sitting with their spouses at separate tables. They are not all sitting together.

All the weddings I have been to lately have had a sweetheat table. HOnestly, you barely sit down anyway.

We had a sweetheart table, and then had two bridal party tables to the sides of us. At each bridal party table, we had the bridal party and their dates (so we had to split up the bridal party into 2 tables). It worked out well, and we just made sure to break up the bridal party so that everyone sat with at least one person they knew.

Re: not doing a sweetheart table?
At first, we were not going to do a sweetheart table but after going to several weddings, I actually decided to do one. It turned out to be a great idea
1- It's not easy to squeeze all the dress when you sit. I could leave the bulk of my dress on my left (DH sitting on my right). Now, I could not even think of squeezing myself with chairs on both sides of me.
2- I enjoy having a few 'break times' and actually enjoy a few minutes 'alone' with my DH. Just talking to each for a few minutes was a good 'breather'.
Now... We both like our peace time from time so the little intimacy the sweetheart table brought was wonderful. It allowed us to capture the moments and regroup from 'socializing'.

We are not doing one. We are sitting with our siblings and their significant others. We will sit with the rest of the BP at the rehearsal dinner.

Re: not doing a sweetheart table?
We went to a wedding where there was no sweetheart table... it was more like a head table. One long table that sat the bride and groom and the bridal party and their dates. It was kinda nice.

I didn't do a sweetheart table either and have no regrets whatsoever about it.
I sat with my maid of honor, bestman, 2 other good friends and their significant others.
We didn't pick siblings 'cus we both had so many and didn't want to play favorites.
I also knew that if DH and I I went around to all the tables together we won't be able to meet and greet everyone so we're glad we can do it separately and come back to our table to have people to talk to.
I highly recommend it.

In my opinion, I think you should do a sweetheart table. This way you don't have to pick who you sit with and no one will be upset. Also , for the little time you and your new husband will be able to sit, you'll be able to do it just the 2 of you.

I agree with having it b/c you don't sit much... for me personally I will be avoiding FH's brother's wife the whole day...

Re: not doing a sweetheart table?
nope, no sweetheart table. We will be sitting at a table with our parents, and my aunt and uncle from europe. (I feel they should have a prominent seat since they traveled so far and are so close to me....) While we realize we will spend a lot of time away from the table, we're doing this is to show our appreciation to the people. Besides, we'll be together the whole time, and there will be plenty of alone time during the honeymoon!

My family is from Europe too and I put them on the closest table to our table.

Re: not doing a sweetheart table?
i will be doing one - i am going to try to steal as many moments with FH as i can
my brother did not do one though - he sat with the people in his bridal party that had no other tables. . . for example family sat with family but a few bridesmaids and groomsmen from Ohio ( where SIL is from) had no real set tables to sit with so they sat with the bride and groom
they really loved it and my brother is trying to get me to do the same thing lol
