Re: not doing garter toss?
we're not doing this for 2 reasons...not many single guys and fh has a bad knee and for him to be down on one knee will be hard

Re: not doing garter toss?
i havent thought about it, but i guess i should!! i suppose i will , just because my family likes traditional stuff, and not much about me, or our wedding is traditional, so i can compromise with that, since it is a small detail.

Re: not doing garter toss?
I had two single people at my wedding, but I still did the traditional throwing of the bo-k and the garter removal/toss.
But we didn't just invite singles to come up and catch each. we asked all men to come up and all women to come up. the man who caught the garter then danced with me, and the girl who caught the bo-k danced with DH. About a minute into the song, the DJ invited other people up to dance with us. It was a lot of fun, without the embarassment for the single girl/guy.

that's a great idea! i'd like to keep the traditional part of it, without having to make each single person (strangers most likely) embarrass themselves.

We are not doing it either - I always felt uncomfortable during it as a guest - so I didn't want my guests to feel the same - it is really personal preference - we are doing the anniversary dance thing

We aren't doing it b/c we don't want to break up the fun of dancing the whole night!!

Re: not doing garter toss?
We didnt do it and no one missed it. We didnt like it for the same reasons you dont and we also didn't have many single people at the wedding. I HATE going to a wedding and when the announce the bok or garter toss no one really gets up!! I always feel bad for the bride when that happens

Re: not doing garter toss?
I'm not doing it (we're just too conservative to do something like that -- it is kind of sexual), but I'm still doing the bouquet toss.

Re: not doing garter toss?
at first, I liked the idea but after attending a wedding with my sister and her FH she caught the bo-k and he was very upset and left the wedding. It can really cause problems
