I would definitely notice it but it wouldn't bother me too much. I would probably assume that they made a donation and mentioned it somewhere but I didn't see it, since people generally do one or the other.

Re: Not giving Favors?
I've been to weddings where there was a donation, a traditional favor (some sort of gift) or an edible favor. I honestly liked the weddings best where there was either an edible favor (one was a cupcake, the other homemade Italian cookies) or a donation. The other favors I didn't use or have no use for them. Just my opinion, HTH!

Re: Not giving Favors?
Not getting a favor doesn't bother me at all. I don't plan on having a favor, but I will put out signs letting guests know I've donated to a charity in their honor.

Re: Not giving Favors?
I am not a favor person, I don't think I ever take them, except one wedding which was a bottle of wine. That was a great idea.
I think donations are also much better then getting some silly think you are going to throw out.

Re: Not giving Favors?
My FBIL and FSIL did not give favors. I did not notice it at all (until I got engaged and was thinking about what we wanted to do).

Re: Not giving Favors?
We are going to have a sign that says that we made a donation in memory of FH's dad to the Michael J Fox Foundation

Re: Not giving Favors?
i wouldnt mind not getting a favor. we are thinking of giving donations, most favors we get are usually tucked away somewhere collecting dust or thrown out (sadly) so i wanted to do something people would use or do a donation with something edible......

Re: Not giving Favors?
I think its a nice gesture to your guests, no matter what the favor is; donation, gift, or edible, just a small token of thanks. Personally the only favors I've enjoyed at weddings is usually edible or dontation favors. I usually ended up giving any physical item to my SIL as I never needed it.

Re: Not giving Favors?
I honestly have trouble seeing the point of spending $$ on favors. You're giving guests food, drinks and dancing. If I do favors, it'll be something inexpensive and very likely edible! I think the charity favors are perfect, as well.
