FH and I went there last night to check out some rooms. I thought they would be much bigger and nicer for $550. Where is everyone else going for their wedding night?

Re: Not impressed with GC Hotel
We stayed in a suite at the Huntington Hilton (Hilton Long Island) on our wedding night and it was beautiful. We had a living room area with a couch and chaise, dining area, kitchenette, nice size bathroom and a HUGE bedroom!! It was perfect!! And we got it for $250 because we blocked off rooms there for our guests. Its normally $400 something. And they had a really great and yummy breakfast the next day! They also had champagnes and chocolate covered strawberries waiting in out room for us after the wedding!!

We stayed at the Wingate Inn , also in Garden City... our room was HUGE!!! It was approx. 900 sq feet & cost us $259 per night.
I think the sales manager there is Cynthia....she was super-helphul!

We're also staying at Wingate for about $350... the room is gorgeous and newly re-done.

Like a whirlpool tub?? Good luck finding one on this island!! My DH and I only like staying in hotels that have Whirlpool tubs so we can both sit and relax in them. We found three places that have them on this island:
1st place- Hollywood Motel- but they only rent by the hour.
2nd place- I believe it was the gateway Inn on Sunrise highway in Merrick or it was the diplomat Inn on Sunrise in Merrick. One of them had the jacuzzi tub.
3rd- I am not even sure if they have one, but you may want to try the Holiday Inn Express. I am not sure where it is exactly, but it is off the LIE in suffolk I believe. Most of the Holiday Inn Express' have a jacuzzi/whirlpool suite. We stayed in a bunch of them around the country and they always had one!!
Oh, and I am not sure if there is one on Long Island, but the Country Inn and Suites by Marriot has big jacuzzi/whirlpool suites. We stayed in their hotel on our honeymoon and when we went to Florida one year. They are our absolute favorite hotel in the world. Sorry, I don't know if there is one on the island. Maybe try the Courtyard Marriot of the expressway, maybe they'll have one!!
