When I first got engaged, I communicated to several people that they would of course be invited. They told me they looked forward to it and can't wait for my wedding.
As I am putting together the formal guest list and generating a STD list, I'm realizing I probably won't have room for them.
What to do? Should I just be silent and not mention it?
I feel bad because I hate going back on my word. I think they would feel bad if I left them out...

Re: Not Inviting PPL You VERBALLY invited
I think you may have to invite them. Don't mention your wedding list to anyone, that way you avoid this problem. I did the same thing, luckily they declined.

I would invite them. They know about it. So many people don't say yes that it's likely while you think right now you don't have room, that you will. B list them if you must. B lists can come in qutie handy.

I think that you need to invite them...
I faced a similar situation, but with a twist...one of the guys my FH plays baseball with was invited to the engagement party with his wife (they did come to that). Since that time he and my FH have pretty much had a falling out - they are finishing out the season, but not at all firends. I said that we needed to still invite them, since they were invited to the eparty...but FH insists that its okay to not invite them. We've eliminated them from the list, and I told FH he'll have to deal with any 'fall out' from them...but I still feel weird...
In my opinion, if you verbally invite someone or invite them to the eparty or the shower, they should be invited to the wedding....

I agree - great use for a B list!

Re: Not Inviting PPL You VERBALLY invited
I remember when we 1st told people we were engaged - those who asked if they were invited (which to tell you the truth took me aback - I would never ask such a question!) I told the ones who were not in my definites the following:
I would love to invite everyone - but we havent even begun to finalize our list. We have a limited number of seats at the Harborclub, unfortunately, so we may not be able to invite everyone we would like.
From there, I figured they would get the hint, and if they still didn't get it, well, they were idiots!
I wound up really being able to invite everyone once the Nos came in!!!

Since you already invited them Verbally, I think you have to sent them the actual invitiation.

Re: Not Inviting PPL You VERBALLY invited
I don't think you need to invite people you verbally invited unless you see them frequently. If you rarely see these people, it is not necessary. Who are they and how are they connected to you?
