GRRRR!!! I'm not going to make my minimum.... We're still missing some RSVPS and when we email or call we keep getting NOs. Grrr! I'm trying not to stress but I'm freaking a bit.

Re: Not making my minimum
No, I am not making it at all. I have 6 responses left and I'm 21 below my minimum. This is awful. I'm going to puke.
ETA: My RSVP was 4/21.

Re: Not making my minimum
Call your hall and see if they can work out a deal or something with you. Maybe they can add something else or take away?

What will happen, they will just charge me for the full 100 seats right? So my asking them to add something in is just to offset the cost?
Sorry, I'm dumb about this.

Oh no, I'm sorry But I agree with the last post. Call them and see what they can do for you. We went to CLM before choosing VYC. They are so nice there. I'm sure they will work something out for you...

Re: Not making my minimum
I'm sorry! I am sure that you hall can help work something out. Perhaps you can add your vendors to the minimum and add a little extra to the CH or dessert - chocolate fountain or viennese!
Or maybe there are some more people you'd like to add?

Do vendors count against your minimum if you are paying 1/2 price for them? I wish kids counted.

I really don't know I've just heard other brides having the same issue and they called their hall and worked it out with them.

I'm already getting a chocoloate fountain. I'm sure they will work with me. My BM is awesome. I'm still freaking out and don't know how this happened. I should have invited 50 extra people at this point. I just figured the close friends and family we invited would mostly say yes.

Re: Not making my minimum
I would fib and invite more people. Just tell them that you were way over your minimum and hope they understand.

Re: Not making my minimum
if you can invite more people I would do that. We invited some people at the last minute and most said yes. They totally understood!
btw, we were *still* under minimum a little bit and they gave us dinners to take home that we were paying for anyways

Cindy, did you talk w/ Nick? I'm sure they'd work something out. How many people did you invite? We're inviting 218, but I still think we may be just about at our minimum. Not fun.
I guess you can get something added in like mentioned (yes to offset cost) or pay full price for your vendors (then its like 1/2 people you are paying for--if that makes sense).
You're in the downstairs room, right?
Is your min 150?

I'm upstairs so my min is 100. I invited 128(including the +1s). I think I overestimated how many people would bring guests. Most are coming solo or not coming at all.

Re: Not making my minimum
I hear you Cindy.....I invited 136 and I just made our minimum of 75. Sometimes people will surprise you.
From what I know this is how it works. If you are under your minimum, then they charge full price for kids and vendors to bring up your number. Are you also including yourself and FH? That counts as well.
If after all of that you are still not at your minimum, then either invite more people last minute or you can ask the hall if they can throw in something to make up for the costs. (Seafood boat at CH, extra carving station, full viennese, etc.) Most places will do this depending on how below your minimum you are.

Re: Not making my minimum
We invited 182 with a 125 minimum. We didn't make 100. We talked to the hall as soon as we knew we weren't going to make the minimum and they worked with us. Some of the 'extras' we were paying for, they decided not to make us pay extra for. We didn't pay for the vendors anymore. We got an extra cocktail station, etc. I've known people that got an extra hour from the hall. (But then you at least have to pay for OT for other vendors, so think)
There's so much you can talk to them about. But the one thing our hall told us was they were glad we told them with 4 weeks to go, and not 10 days to go. We told them we weren't going to make the minimum even before we had the official final count. They appreciated knowing beforehand.
