So it looks like we may be about 15 adults short of our 150 adult minimum, and have to meet with our RH on Saturday. Any advice? We have over 20 kids coming. Since kids are a third off, I wanted to ask them to count every 3 kids as 2 adults. What do you think? Any negotiating suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
You still have a month... you can't try to find some more people? I n the meantime, I think what you suggested is a good idea.

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
There is a post on the 2010 boards for couples who are short on their headcount...you can ask some of LIWers to be seat fillers, so to speak. But they'll be tons of fun.

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
I like your every 3rd kid idea, or even if they give you every 2 kids, i will keep you from having to pay too much extra. they may make u pay for your vendors full price though.

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
You can ask on the 2010 boards for seat fillers. You can also include your vendors in your count since you have to pay for them anyway. Or you can try to invite people last minute. I'm sure not everyone will come, but FH and I have been invited to weddings last minute and attended (with a gift).
Hope everything works out.

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
Ask them to throw something in like a chocolate fountain or a candy bar or a martini bar or another station etc...

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
Maybe you can see if to make up for the 15 people if they RH could throw some free stuff into your package? I know some girls who have done that

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
Hmm.... are there any other people you can invite? I'm not sure how flexible the hall is on upgrading. You should check your contract though. But you should post about the LIW seat fillers

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
Try for an upgrade but not all places will do that.
I personally would not do seat fillers -- in the end you spend more money.
First you count your vendors (DJ/Photographer) toward your minimum. Then you start filling in with the kids.
Yes vendors and kids are less expensive, but if you have to pay for the 15 plates regardless, why would you ask people just to take those places and then pay for the kids/vendors on top of that even at a discount.
15 people is not a lot especially if you have 20 kids -- without them coming you are still saving money!
