not really wedding related - apartments
Hi everyone! Not really wedding related except that my fiance and I need to find a new apartment to live in..Does anyone know of a nice apartment (preferably to rent but open if the price is right) in Garden City or not that far from there that is available or will be available in the upcoming months? Thank you!

I had a friend that owned a co-op apt in the Cherry Valley complex. I have heard recently that the prices on these co-ops have come down a lot, so in the long run, it may be a better option than renting. Or look to sublet one. Other than that advice, all I can say it to keep looking in your local Pennysaver. Before my FH and I bought our house, I was living in a 2-family house on the top floor. It was just like living in a house and I loved it, and the little old lady down stairs who owned the house loved me like her granddaughter. I miss is sometimes, but my point is, these are options other then getting an apartment in an apartment complex. Good Luck!

There are a ton of apts in Mineola, (mostly co-ops, but you can sublease them) which is a great location for anyone who commutes into the city. We couldn't find any without going through a realtor - Let me know if you'd like some names.

Sure...If you can send me any names of local realtors, that would be great! I have contacted some but it seems like their are a limited mount of apartments available right now in the Garden city area. Any info you have you can e-mail me at [email protected]. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

We live together in NYC right now and we'd love to move to LI. I teach in queens & he could commute to NYC (When he gets a job!!!). Any suggestions as to places to live? Also, does anyone know the average price to rent in LI? I'm completely new to this & just wondering what we should expect and if it's even feasible for us to move due to our financial situation. THanks in advance!!

I think how much you want to spend really determines where to live on LI. Closer to the city, it`s more expensive. The Garden City, Mineola area is a great commute for anyone working in the city, but the average 1 bedroom apt to rent is about $1,000 - 1,200 per month. How much were you looking to spend?

I would be greatful if you emailed me some names. We are searching for apartments now as well. We haven't decided if we are going to rent or buy a coop. I think we're leaning towards renting. We are interested in Mineola, Gadn. City and Massapequa. Thanks so much.Welcome New Vendors
