We didn't register because we live in a 1 bedroom apartment and have just about everything we need at the moment (and can fit). We aren't even going to start looking for houses until well after the wedding. Plus we both work in NYC and are are in no immediate rush to move back to LI. Is it rude to explain this to people and hint that we'd prefer cash or gift cards rather than gifts. I really just don't want to be a hoarder for the next few years... I am def not registering for the e-party but I feel like I have to for my shower.

Re: Not Registering for Engagement Party & Shower
I totally understand and we were in the same boat when we had our party, we just didn't put anything on the card, and we got like 80 percent cash gifts..
I would just leave it blank, we did that only because we didn't want people thinking we were expecting presents ya know? Hope this helps :)

Honeyfund is really popular. You can register for your honeymoon or other things, like a house! When you send out your shower invites, you could address it by saying something like 'Because of limited space, we've opted to create a honeymoon registry at (whateveryourwebsiteis.com)' This way people wont be constantly bothering you for your registry and they'll get the hint that you don't need gifts right now.

You can def register for your honeymoon though! My cousin is doing the same thing because she already lives with her FH and has everything. I think it's called honeyfund or sometimes you can do it through your travel agent

I would do the honeyfund and then do a small registry with things you need plus gift cards

Re: Not Registering for Engagement Party & Shower
Thankfully we live on the east coast and most people give cash for the wedding....but i think you should register SOMEWHERE for the shower. I love the honeymoon registry! I have lived with my FH for 3 years and we plan to go through all our stuff and see what we really need before registering, plus were doing the HM registry.
I got an invite last year and SERIOUSLY on the bottom was 'no boxed gifts', i thought it was very tacky...dont do this lol

Im somewhat in the same boat. FH owns a house and we have a lot of what we need already. We will do a small registry but I am thinking of using honeyfund. You register for what you want but get either cash or checks so technically you can use it for whatever you want. I haven't done it yet though.
