I'm no expert, but I think you need to add strength training to your routine. I know once I started workin out with weights I started noticing results a lot faster.

Personally, I dont think a mile a day is enough. It is probably good enough for health benefits, but most likely not for weight loss. Aim for at least 3.........and yes adding weights will help a bit as well.

Your body is not going to loose fat from doing cardio every day!
Do 3 days of cardio and add weight training as your main workout routine 3-4 days per week.

Figure 1 mile is only 100 calories. Thats not even a cookie!
I've lost weight very quickly by doing 3 miles 4-5x a week and doing some weights...some arms and about 2-300 situps. It takes me about 1hr 15mins.

Yeah, you should incorporate weight training (even twice a week will make a difference) and increase your running to at least 3 miles. You don't have to run every day, in fact it's better for your joints if you mix it up and ride a bike, swim, or walk some days instead.
If you can't run more than 1 mile now, then you should probably mix it up and walk for 5 minutes, run for 5 minutes, and so on until you are doing cardio for at least 30 minutes. You are still getting good cardio benefits that way, and you will need to walk less and less over time.

You also need to drink plenty of water. Sometimes when you start a new work out routine such as cardio or weights, you muscles are sore and retain water, this can make the scale a bit higher. Stick with it and you will see the weight come off.
I agree with other people on here. You should aim for 30 minutes of cardio 3-5 days per week and increase that when you feel up for it and 30 minutes of weights 2 days per week. Mix up your routine so you don't get bored.
Don't forget to eat. If you are working out and not eating enough, you will actually put your body into starvation mode and you won't lose any weight.
