not sure if im getting tricked.

i got in a pretty bad car accident on thursday.. and i was just wondering if anyone knew if when you get into an accident is the insurance company supposed to send someone to come to you to check the car out because they want me to bring my car to them.. and its kinda far.. and first of all im scared to drive and second of all the car isnt too safe to drive... so i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this.

i have geico. im ok. my neck has been hurting really bad and my cars pretty messed up but other than that i guess it could always be worse right? it ***** cause i have to get driven around everywhere now. i guess at least i have an excuse to make FH my personal driver. lol

Depends on how bad the car is. I think if you let them know they can send someone to you.

Sorry to hear about your car accident! I have Geico also and when I got into a car accident I had to bring it to them. MY car was still driveable but i would imagine that if the car isnt driveable they'd have to come to you. But its definitely not a scam for them to request that you bring the car in.

the adjuster is supposed to be on the scene where the car is! Or if its been towed they have to come to your house to look at it. DOnt bring the car anywhere! They could easily say you smashed it up even more to get more money-get a second opinion something isnt right there...sorry to sound so nagging my ex used to do that adjuster/mechanic type of stuff!

Aww!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your car accident. I hope you feel better soon. I have geico and I know I had to bring the car to them. Although, I thought they should have came to me. Anyway, good luck with everything and feel better!

If the car is un-safe to drive you need to tell them! You shouldnt be driving around in it....

You should go to the dr for your neck and stuff. If the accident wasnt your fault you can probably get treatment for it from the other persons insurance. Neck injuries can be really bad even though they dont hurt that much.

I think you should call geico and tell them that you know they want you to bring the car to you, but its dangerous to drive it and you dont feel comfortable driving it.

Allstate has drive in claim centers where you bring the car if it's in a driveable condition. Also, when i got into accidents, it was towed to the body shop and thats where the adjuster went.

I spoke to someone who has geico and she said that they shouldnt have even asked you to bring it to them if the car looked dangerous to drive at all. Once you said you werent comfortable driving it, they should have come to you.
