Not to be gross, but I am on my monthly and just went to the bathroom to change my tampon. For some reason I felt a sharp pain when I removed it. Has this happened to anyone? I am guessing this is not normal.
Sorry if this is gross, but did not know who else to ask.

Was it bothering you at all before you removed it? I'm thinking maybe you inserted it wrong or something.

oh that happens to me ALL the time.. it could be a number of things. if it's (this is gross) too 'dry' it won't 'slide' out right and its like an air bubble behind it popping... I get the pain on the right side too. I also recently had a cyst on my right ovary that ruptured... so tampons were my worst enemy for the past 2 months.
I also have a (slightly) tilted cervix and that causes weird pains every now and then.. esp during my period and when I use a tampon (which is every period)
also, depending on how bad your cramps were, if they were BAD (like mine are) then your contracting and sometimes the cotton from the tampon sticks to the uterine wall and get pulled off (think of being waxed)
it could be a number of things.
did it feel like pressure? was the tampon dry? did the tampon look like it was attacked by starving sharks?
sorry so graphic

I would not say it looked as though it had been attacked by anything, but thanks for that.
I did feel some pressure, but relief not pain. 2 years ago I had a cyst removed from my right ovary and I had one develop again. But the doctor thinks it ruptured on its own because I bled (lightly) for about 15 days straight.
I just hope it is not another cyst, because I don't think I could handle another laporoscopy.
Thanks for the info and very graphic mental picture!!

yeah not exactly a sharp pain but definately a little pain once in a while if it was in a funky position to begin with (or atleast thats what i assume happened cuz thats basically what it feels like when i pull it out, )
